Parenting Skills Workshops
The Counseling Center provides parent education through parenting skills workshops. Segmented by children's age groups to maximize the workshops' usefulness, leaders share and teach age-appropriate parenting techniques. Parents learn exceptional skills through guidance by a facilitator in a small group setting. These workshops typically are conducted in the fall and winter.

STEP Parent Enrichment Workshops

Our workshops are based on Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP), the most widely used parenting education program in the country. Improving parent-child relationships is the focus of small-group discussions between parents of similar aged children. Workshop leaders help parents to learn simple, effective parenting skills. This program also fosters mutual respect between parent and child, increased cooperation, more effective communication, and a more responsible, self-reliant attitude among children.

Costs

Tuition (includes $20 materials fee): $115 for individuals, $165 for couples

Tuition scholarships are available upon request, but cost for the materials cannot be waived.
