Our History

In 1969, the need for services for substance abuse and mental health problems such as depression and family upheaval were especially pressing. In response, a group of Marblehead residents founded the Marblehead Counseling Center to provide direct services to individuals and families and to address community needs.

Today the Counseling Center remains true to that vision. For over 50 years, the Marblehead Counseling Center has been the leading counseling source for Marblehead and Swampscott, providing a broad array of therapy, education and support for children, teens, adults, seniors and families.
