Obsessive-Compulsive Behavior

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is characterized by recurrent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Repetitive behaviors are often performed with the hope of preventing obsessive thoughts or making them go away. It is estimated that 2% of the population in the United States suffers from OCD. It affects both children and adults. But it is important to know that OCD can be successfully treated with medication and behavioral therapy.

If you are worried that you or someone you know is suffering from OCD, the Counseling Center may be able to help you. To request a confidential session Contact Us.
