Who we are

We believe effective counseling promotes growth and self-healing in a safe, supportive and judgment-free environment.

Access to quality mental health services is our mission.

We aim to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in Marblehead, Swampscott and surrounding North Shore communities by providing a high-quality, local source of mental health care and family support.

We are 55+ years strong

In 1969, the need for services for substance abuse and mental health problems such as depression and family upheaval were especially pressing. In response, a group of Marblehead residents founded the Marblehead Counseling Center to provide direct services to individuals and families and to address community needs.

Today, the Counseling Center remains true to that vision.  For over 50 years, the Marblehead Counseling Center has been the leading counseling source for Marblehead and Swampscott, providing a broad array of therapy, education and support for children, teens, adults, seniors and families.

Unfortunately, the demand for quality, reliable and affordable mental health care remains as high as ever;  as a non-profit, our desire to expand the scope and scale of our services to meet this demand is only possible with the contributions of the community.  Please consider donating any amount so we may further our mission of providing exceptional support to those in need.

We’re in this together.

As a not for profit, Marblehead Counseling Center relies on community donations and grants like those generously issued by the Cummings Foundation.  As a 2023 winner, the funds we received will allow us to scale our mission of providing affordable mental health care to the North Shore community.
